The day Thomas made the client cry

Not long ago, Thomas made the client cry…

It’s not often our clients cry during meetings. And if they do, it’s usually not a good thing. But this time was different. Thomas made our client cry – in a good way.

Imagine having to tell your young child or grandchild that you have cancer – maybe even a life-threatening one. Now imagine being that child, trying to make sense of what’s happening. For any parent, that thought hits hard.

And it’s exactly why Amgen asked us to create a story – something to be shared aloud with children and grandchildren of patients with cancer.

We set out to shape something gentle and heartfelt. A story that could hold a difficult conversation with care, honesty, and warmth. Something that made space for both the sadness and the love.

When we presented the first draft to the client and a group of oncology nurses, the room went quiet. Then the tears came. We took it as a sign we were on the right track.

Two months later… and now, it’s ready.

It’s a story about how life changes for Little Bear and Big Bear. But they face it together – with courage, laughter, and lots of hugs.

The material will soon be available in cancer units across Denmark and Norway – with more countries to follow.

We’re proud of this one.

A BIG thank you to our courageous clients Liv Svae and Karin Andreasen for taking on this initiative.

And a special shoutout to the group of oncology nurses who guided us with insights and feedback throughout the journey.

This one’s for all the Big Bears and Little Bears out there. 💛
